Warren Edward Buffett
"Oracle of Omaha"
Warren Edward Buffett was the most successful
investor of the 20th century. I know his when I
studied about the
stock market and investments. Warren Buffett was born in August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Buffet married with Susan Buffet in 1952. They had three children,
there are Susie , Howard and Peter.
As a child, Buffett discovered his math skills and interest in money matters.
Buffett returned to Omaha and worked as a stockbroker while he taking a Dale Carnegie public speaking course. He felt confident to teach an "Investment Principles" at University of Nebraska-Omaha. The average
age of his students was more than twice his own. He purchased a Sinclair Texaco gas station as a side investment. However, he was
not successful.
Buffett operated three partnerships in 1957. He purchased a five-bedroom stucco
house in Omaha, where he still lives.
And than in 1958 Buffett operated five partnerships. Buffett operated seven partnerships in 1960. Buffett
became a billionaire when Berkshire Hathaway began selling class A shares
on May 29, 1990, with the market closing at US$7,175 a share. So, he gets many capital gain.
I consider Warren Buffett as
a successful businessman because he known
as the "Oracle of Omaha", a well-known investor, one of the richest and most respected
businessmen in the world.
My Dream
My name is Endang Pujiati. I have a lot of dreams. When I was a kid, my dream was to be a teacher. But my dream was changed when I was Senior High School. I don't want to be a teacher again. Now, I want to be an accountant, Governor of Indonesian Bank, entrepreneur and investor. I like things that are associated with stocks.
Now, I just focus on learning and finish my college at State University of Semarang major an accounting. After I graduated, I want to be a famous accountant in Indonesia. On the other hand, I also want to open restaurant business and became an investor. So, I want all of my dreams come true. I don't just rely my expertise as an accountant.
That is just the beginning of my dreams. After I became an accountant, I will start my business to open a restaurant, and be an investor. So, all of my dreams can be realized. I will not delayto get married. After I graduated and find the right partner, I will get married. I will marry man who are pious, kind, and care with me and my parents. I want to have 2 children that man and woman. I will build a harmonious family, happy, and prosperous. Finally I want to take my parents to Makkah for "hajji". I think enough about my dreams. I hope my dreams come true.

You don't use "in" for August, so the correct sentence is "Warren Buffett was born on August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA"

BalasHapusFirst, like the Ema's feedback, the preposition of month is "on". So, the correct sentence is on August 30, 1930.
Second, the sentence of "The average age of his students was more than twice his own" is incorrect. The correct sentence is "The average age of his students 'were' more than twice his own". Because it's a plural sentence.

Andina : The preposition of month is using "on". So, the correct sentence is " Warren Buffett was born on August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.”
2. Buffet married with Susan Buffet in 1952.
Andina : The sentence less perfect, because before “married” word you should to be (was). “Buffet was married with Susan Buffet in 1952.”
3. Buffett returned to Omaha and worked as a stockbroker while he taking a Dale Carnegie public speaking course.
Andina : I think this sentence less perfect. If you want to use “while” you should to chance this sentense “.......was working as a stockbroker while he was taking a Dale Carnegie public speaking course.”, because “while” used to incident where it happen in the same time. and also you less to add “to be (was)” after subject (he).
4. They had three children, there are Susie , Howard and Peter.
Andina : I think this sentence less perfect. Because in your sentence, there are three children. So, before “ and” you should to add punctuation “comma (,)”. And if you want to use my correction like this “ They had three children. There are Susie, Howard, and Peter.” or “They had three children, there are Susie, Howard, and Peter.”
5. Finally I want to take my parents to Makkah for "hajji".
In this sentence, I think you should to add punctuation “comma(,)” after “finally” word.

BalasHapusHi Endang, I'll give some corrections to your post. Actually, your article is good and it's easy to understand. But, there are some grammar errors on your post, here they are:
BalasHapus1. On your second sentence " I know his when I studied about the stock market and investments" should be "I knew him when I studied about the stock..." because in this case Warren Edward Buffett is an object so you should use objective pronoun (him) not use possesive pronoun (his).
2. The word "than" should be replaced by "then" (the second sentence on the third paragraph). I'm sure that you did typo :D
3. Then, your last sentence on the third paragraph, the verb "gets" should be replaced by "got" (V2) because you used past tense.
That's all about the corrections, it may help. But your article is good after all. Nice work ;)
