Tanjung’s Biography
Chairul
Tanjung was born on Jakarta, June 16, 1962. Chairul Tanjung is a businessman
from Indonesia. His name is widely known as a successful businessman with the
company he leads, the Group. The company has a core conglomerate Holdindo as
fatherholding company, which is in charge of several sub holding, namely the
Global Investindo (business finance), The Core Investindo (media and
investment), and the Core Properindo (property). Under the group, Chairul has a
number of companies in various fields.
Chairul has started his business when he attended the Department of Dentistry, University of Indonesia. Had ups and downs, he eventually built a successful business. The Group becomes a business enterprise in charge of other companies, such as Trans TV and Mega Bank.
After finishing school in high school Boedi Oetomo in 1981, he entered Department of Dentistry, University of Indonesia and graduated in 1987. In this college, he was honored as National Model Student 1984 – 1985. He starts a business from selling textbooks stencils, shirts, and others on campus. He also opened a photocopy on campus. Chairul also founded a medical supply store and laboratory numbers Senen Raya, Central Jakarta. But, it was broke.
After in a college, Chairul been established PT Pariarti Shindutama with three colleagues in 1987. They produce children’s shoes for export. But Chairul choose build his ows business. His skills as an entrepreneur make his business grow. Chairul reposition his business into three core business. They are financial, property, and multimedia. The Group has a Trans TV, Trans 7, Mahagagaya Prime, Trans Fashion, Lifestyle Trans, and Trans Studio. In a property business, the Group has Bandung Supermall. The Group launched Bandung Supermall as the Central Business District in 1999. In early 2010, the Group through its subsidiary, Trans Corp bought a majority stake in Carrefour.
Chairul said that in building a business, develop a network is important. Having a partner is well needed. Building a relationship wasn’t only to companies that are reputable, but also on an unknown though. For Chairul, a good friend will help evolve business processes undertaken.
According
to Chairul, capital is important in building and growing a business. For him,
the willingness and hard work should be owned by someone who wants to succed in
business. In business, Chairul said that the younger generation businesses
should be patient and willing to venture up the stairs one at a time. Building
a business isn’t like turning the palm of the hand. It takes a patience and
never give up. Build integrity is important for Chairul.

Andina : In this sentence, I feel less perfect. Because if you used the name of place you must to use prepotition ‘in” not “on”. If you want to use my sentence, like this “Chairul Tanjung was born on June 16, 1962 in Jakarta.”

“His name is famous as a successful businessman with the company that he leads, it is the Group name.”
3. After finishing school in high school Boedi Oetomo in 1981, he entered Department of Dentistry, University of Indonesia and graduated in 1987.
Andina : I think in your sentence, there are mistakes. Chairul graduated in High School
Boedi Oetomo, it happen in the past and didn’t happen again now. So, you must use past
tense “finishing” to be “finished”. And written word “High School Boedi Oetomo” like
this, not “high school Boedi Oetomo” .
4. He starts a business from selling textbooks stencils, shirts, and others on campus.
Andina : I think, Chairul started a business when he was in collage and he is not collage now. So, you must to use “Past Tense” in your sentence. If you want to use my sentence, like this “He started a business from selling textbooks stencils, shirts, and others in campus.”

Less good, you will replace "on" with "in" and "on". So, the correct sentence is "Choirul Tanjung was born in Jakarta, on June 16,1962."
