GROUP 1

1. PRESENT TENSE
“He goes to Jakarta to get the better job.”

You should replace the word “the better” with “a better”. Because “better” is to compare two different situation. You can use “the” is for “the best”
“He goes to Jakarta to get a better job.”

2. PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
Indonesia’s kurs is growing up today”
I think better change the word “Indonesia’s kurs” with “Rupiah’s exchange rate”
Rupiah’s exchange rate is growing up today”

GROUP 4
1. PRESENT TENSE
“I always washes my face and brushes my teeth before going to bed”
The Formula of Simple Present Tense is : I/You/We/They + V1
He/She/It + V1 +s/es
“I always wash my face and brush my teeth before going to bed”
2. PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
My friend are helping me to solve my problem”
The word “my friend (without ‘s’)” means a person, so you should use “is” not “are”
“My friend is helping me to solve my problem”

GROUP 5
1. PAST TENSE
“The thief had run away after he got alot of money from the bank”
I think the correct sentence is “ The thief run away after he had gotten a lot of money from the Bank”
Why? Because “he run away” happen after “he get a lot of money”, so you use past perfect tense for “he get a lot of money” and past tense for “he run away”

2. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
a. " a consumers were competing to get the product"
You use "a" is for single noun so, you can change the sentence with "a costumer was competing...." or "the customers were competing" it is for plural noun.
b. "Riza is studying math with her friends in her house at the moment”
Riza is a boy, so you use “his” not “her”
“Riza is studying math with his friends in his house at the moment”


GROUP 7
1. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
“Yuli was watching television  when I cleaned the floor”
The sentence “Clean the floor” you should use past continuous for this activity (because this is not a short activity), and change the word “when” into “while”
“Yuli was watching television  while I cleaning the floor”
2. PAST PERFECT TENSE
“I had played football after I exercised
Because you “excercise” before “play football”, so you should use Past Perfect for “exercise” and Past Tense for “play football”. So the correct sentence is “I played football after I had exercised”.
“I played football after I had exercised”

GROUP 9
1. PAST TENSE
“I bought many clothes to my family”
You should use “for” not “to”, it will be better. So the correct sentence is “I bought many clothes for my family”.
“I bought many clothes for my family”

2. PAST PERFECT TENSE
“Fauzy had sent me a email before he called yesterday”
Don’t use “a” for “a email”, you should use “an” for “an email”
“Fauzy had sent me an email before he called yesterday”


GROUP 10

1. PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
“Don't go anywhere! our office boy is making some glass of coffee for us”
The word “some” means plural, so you should write “some glasses”
“Don't go anywhere! our office boy is making some glasses of coffee for us”

2. PRESENT TENSE
“This annual report is not complete, please check your notes and say to me as soon as possible. I'm really need this document”
Don’t use “to be” before Verb. So you should write “I really need this document”
3.  PAST TENSE
“you have to saw the labels before you bought it”
After “to”, you use V1, so the correct sentence is “You have to see the labels before you bought it”

4. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
a. I was recording supplies inventory while my partner moved this car to the parking area.
b. He was washing his car while his assistant cleaned his garden.
c. Vitta was making some cakes while her mother went to the market
For all sentences, you better use “when” not “while” because its short activity and change the sentence into past continuous or past tense (for when)
a.       I was recording supplies inventory when my partner moved this car to the parking area”
 b.      “He was washing his car while his assistant cleaning his garden”
c.       “Vitta was making some cakes when her mother went to the market”

5. PAST PERFECT TENSE
“Novi had written her job to makes some business plan, she must bring it to the director tomorrow morning as soon as possible”
The formula : He/she/it + v1+s/es. The correct sentence is “she must brings it to the director”

GROUP 12
1. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS
“I had been helping make a cupcake when my sister called me”
The word “help” is a verb which is following by “to”, so you should write “I had been helping to make a cupcake when my sister called me”.

1. PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
“They are having dinner with my sister in the seafood restaurants at 7.30 p.m tonight”
You should write “a dinner” and “restaurant (without ‘s’). So the correct sentence is “They are having a dinner with my sister in the seafood restaurant at 7.30 p.m tonight”

2. PAST TENSE
“We ate delicious snack and played some game last night”
The word “some” is plural, so you should change the word “game” into “games”.
“We ate delicious snack and played some games last night”

3, PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
“She was reading a novel with me in terrace when you come here”
The word “come” is for present tense, so you can use V2 for past tense. You should write “She was reading a novel with me in terrace when you came here”

    By the way, on the sentence "he run away", what is the past form of the verb "run"? remember? it is supposed to be verb 2. So?
