SUSI PUDJIASTUTI
Susi Pudjiastuti was born in Pangandaran on 15 Januari 1965. She is a
minister of marine and fisheries. She is also
the owner of PT ASI Pudjiastuti Marine Product (it’s exporting the fishary
product) and PT ASI Pudjiastuti Aviation (Susi
Air Flight) from west java. When she was a
child, her family were a breeders. After Ms. Susi had graduated from junior
high school, she was continue her education at SMA Negeri 1 Yogyakarta, but she
was quit her study in the 2nd grade because she was expelled from her school as
a result of active involvement in the movement abstentions.
After she had expelled from her school, she sold her jewelry and raising
capital to became a fish trader at Pangandaran in 1983. Her business growed,
until at 1996 Susi opened fish processing plant PT ASI Pudjiastuti Marine
Product with her superior product such as lobster which was branded “Susi
Brand”. Her business extended to Asian and American Markets. To support her
business, she required air tansportation to transport the fish quickly, so her
product kept fresh.
At 2004,
she bought a Cessna Caravan at a price
of Rp 20 billion by using bank loans, then she established PT ASI Pudjiastuti
Aviation. Now Susi Air operates 50 various types of aircraft. Susi Air employs
180 pilots, with 175 of them are foreign pilots. Susi Air receive revenue of Rp
300 billion and serves 200 aviation pioneers.
