Merry Riana
Merry Riana is a successful young woman entrepreneur, writer, and motivator.She was born in Jakarta, 29th May 1980. She is the eldest of three children. Her parents worked hard to feed them for life.She has earned her first million dollars by the age of 26, just 4 years after graduating from University, her success and accolades were featured in the Straits Times in 2007.
I used to not believe that she can get a million dollars in Singapore. I thought she had it from her family. But it’s all changed after I watched a movie or documentary film about her life “Million Dollar Dream” and also read her book “Diamond in the Rough".
In 1998, there were a lot of unrests in Indonesia and anti-Chinese riots were breaking out in many places. That’s why Merry’s father sent her to Singapore and he gave her $ 1,000 for Merry’s living expenses. Merry Riana started her career in Singapore by her self. She took a study loan and enrolled as a student of electronics Engineering student in Nanyang Technological University. The study loan was enough to get by but nothing beyond. Everyday, Merry found herself skimming and saving in order to pay for her textbooks, accommodation, food, and other living expenses. She worked in many places until someday she met Mrs.Noor, who gave her a Million dollar to invest.
I think this is an inspirational person who can motivate people to be successful at young age. She brings good spirit for young women in Indonesia. I admire her!
My Dream
I am Dea. I have a lot of dreams. When I was nine years old, my dream was to be a doctor, and as the time goes, I have another dreams. Sometimes, I want to be an engineer, a teacher, and other interesting dreams. However, I'm grown up. And I know what I want to be.
After I graduated from the university, I want to study fashion design at Hoogeschool van Amsterdam. I want to be an etrepreneur especially on fashion. I prefer working with art because it can make a good mood to me and I think it won’t make me bored.
That’s just the beginning of my dreams. When I study in Amsterdam, I want to get a part time job. I will build a boutique. In my boutique I hope I can make a new brand and also hope it will be famous among teenagers. I also will have another business such as school or property. After all running good, I will marry someone special who always cares to me and who always accepts me as who I am.
I want to have 2 children. there names are Caroline and Robert. My family will live in a moderate house with a tree in the middle of my house or pool inside on the yard. So, we can play inside our house.
Finally, I want to lived at Europe ? and take my mom to stay together with my little family. It’s very funny to think, how my life will be. I must work hard, so I will have all my dreams come true!
